Exhibition Overview In her book "A Room of One's Own," British writer Woolf emphasizes the core idea that women need to have a certain income and private space. This exhibition uniquely transcends theory by presenting, as art installations, domestic spaces designed for three young women, vividly illustrating the practical manifestation of this concept in real life. The works of five emerging artists focus on female mythologies, reflections on the cycle of life, identity dilemmas, and nuanced observations of everyday life. Through replicable art prints, the exhibition delves into the overarching concept of women's need for independent rooms. This endeavour goes beyond the specific portrayal of an ideal living environment for women; it aims to collectively contemplate the profound impact of this idea on individuals' lives and social interactions. We hope to foster a broader dialogue on gender equality and individual spatial needs. We look forward to the audience collectively discovering and experiencing the different meanings of women having their own independent rooms in this creative space. Curator: Shi Wenyi 10/01/2024
